Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggggghhhh! It won't work! I do 'Get Connected', select 'Connect via IR' on the SPV, and they make the noise that means they've found each other, then activesync just sits there saying 'Not Connected', and the SPV says 'Connecting'.! Any ideas? No firewall s/w active, Windows XP, worked fine with Jornada! P
Guest alanlee Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 I had that problem yesterday and it also forgot that the computer and smartphone had a partnership.. had to resync the lot. Waited a good 20 mins before they 'forgot' each other and then tried to resync and it worked.. weird huh? It's been working perfectly since though.... and prior to that
Guest neilg Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 I find the IR sync very intermittant. Once it finally connects it seems to work once for me and then I can't re-attach without a re-boot. The PC wireless link (transfer files) option is available and says it is talking to the SMartphone but active sync doesn't pick it up. Are you going to Phone Menu>Active sync> and then selecting sync via IR to kick it all off - I know you are probably but I had trouble with active sync when just activating IR from the normal accesories menu in SPV. Otherwise I have tried changing the phone settings from USB to 115K and then further down to a slower speed and it seems to work better. If you get a surefire way to make it more reliable I'd be interested to know! Neil :D
Guest tiita Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 make sure you are using 3.6 version of active sync.
Guest Fulkrum Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 If you are syncing via ir, why would you have usb selected in the first place???????
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted December 3, 2002 Report Posted December 3, 2002 Just delete the partnership and it will work fine. I Sync my SPV with my work Laptop using IR and my Desktop at home using USB. I have to keep deleting the partnerships and all works fine.
