Guest woof Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Does anyone know where the "sms message sent" sound is kept and away of changing it, its not in the sounds setting. It must be some where. I want to change it to Cartman say "Sweet Dude" Rusty Ive just put Timmy's saying of "livin a lie, Livin a lie....Timmy" as my incoming SMS alert......its so funny, I actually looking forward to my lecture at uni monday now, when it goes off!!!!
Guest woof Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 Come on, some one must know how to change the message sent tone
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 I can't find how to change the message sent but have not thought of it before :? I have even tried Sounzcool and there is no option there, so the sound could be one of the general alerts.
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 well does any one know where the message sent sound file (.wav) would be, you can change the manu pop up sounds but I can not located the message sounds?? where are all the sms stuff kept
Guest jhew Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 It's the 'exclamation' sound. Try changing that and see what happens.
Guest HelloDave Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Yup, it's the exclamation sound you want - I have Cartman saying "Kickass". Only problem is the system uses exclamation for other things as well, such as when you remove the camera while IA Album/MMS s/w is open, where "Kickass" isn't really appropriate!
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 where is the exlamation sound based?? and I take it I just delete the old file and add a new file with the same file name, or is there another way of changing it
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Ive looked in every folder on the SPV and cant find a file called exclamation
Guest HelloDave Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Aaaagh - nooooooo! OK, i'll start again :) Put the wav file you want in IPSMSounds. Go to settings...sounds, move down the page a bit and you will find a combo box titled "Exclamation". Change that to the sound you want and that's it!
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Brill, thanks guys, out a sweet file on now, but its seem really quiet and I cant find a way of making it louder, The file is at a normal sound level so it not the wav that recorded to quiet. Any ideas of turning it up??
Guest jhew Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Just hit the power button quickly, and goto the normal profile (or whatever one you're using), press the right softkey to edit the profile, then change the volume of the 'system sound' or 'notification' sound (cant remember which). This will also increase the volume of other associated sounds on your phone too, so have a play. Or you could try using a .wav editor program (the one that comes with Nero is quite good) and make the volume of the individual sound louder. This might induce some clipping, or distortion, but give it whirl.
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 The notification setting it on loud, so dont know whats up with it there, the old sound wernt that loud either. I will try cool edit to normalize it a bit higher (as long as it dont distort to much). Strange that the loud setting aint that loud!!!! :)
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 In fact Ive just tried all the preset tone on the phone with the notification sound and they are all quite low, so there is a problem somewhere
Guest jhew Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Yeah, got my 'notification' set to loud too, and it's never been that, well, loud. :)
Guest Firaas Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 In fact Ive just tried all the preset tone on the phone with the notification sound and they are all quite low, so there is a problem somewhere Change the system volume to Loud - that fixes it for me...
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 but dont you then have the problem of the key pad beeping at a stupidly loud volume
Guest woof Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 as well as all the menu select sounds and stuff
