Guest stevef Posted February 22, 2003 Report Posted February 22, 2003 I have happily :) been working with my Jornada PDA and Activesync (v3.1) for over a year with no problems. The SPV Guide asks that the old version of Activesync be uninstalled before I install v3.6 to avoid possible conflicts. Can anyone tell me if they have come across any difficulties? Also if I do as requested .... will I be able to synchronise data for both my PDA and SPV? Sorry if i seem a bit pessimistic but i wanted to check whether anyone had come across any problems .....before i mess things up :?:
Guest yatpeak Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 I think it should be alright, but I'm not too sure about it. If anything happens you can always just uninstall 3.6, reinstall 3.1 and everything will be back to normal. I did use to use two PDAs on one computer and that worked alright, hopefully your PDA and SPV won't have a problem with it. Good luck, Wyatt
Guest PhilA Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 I've got a Jornada 720 (H/PC 2000), Packard Bell PocketPC (PocketPC 2002), and SPV, and they all work fine with ActiveSync 3.6 on the same PC, although the icon for the Jornada under "My Computer" changes to a palmtop icon Unfortunately, although not surprisingly, you can't sync them all at the same time - I find the first one that's plugged in synchronises and the others do nothing. To sync one of the other machines, you need to unplug them all, and then plug in the one you want to sync first. HTH
Guest stevef Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Thanks for the comments :) I went for it!!!........ All worked OK.......BUT had a couple of hours of messing around............only to find that there was no problem with the set up - but really had to push the phone onto the sync cradle in order for my pc to recognise it :!:
Guest yatpeak Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Too bad it took so long, but I'm glad it's working. Wyatt
