Guest kingdom master Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 ok before you ask, no i havent but im curious, lol is there a virus checker for the spv and what if possible would happen if i downloaded a virus to the spv? thanks.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 No virus checker yet. Depends on what the virus is, but as it would have to be written for the SPV its unlikely
Guest Cent Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 No offence ... if you have a virus ... treasure it. To look for tools to remove non-existing viruses at this stage would be kind of complex. Who would develop them ? And what would they use for viruses to test with during development ? What would they advertice their tool as ? I can see it now : "Our unique Antivirus Tool will keep your Smartphone 2002 System clear of all viruses. Especially since there are none at this stage. To test it properly we developed our own and crashed the Orange Network a number of times." :) ;) :D    Even better. If a virus appears and the virus is certified it would take weeks of certification and cost a lot of money to develop an Antivirus tool. Don't think anyone would bother developing a tool then except Orange. And since Orange is pretty much clueless when it comes to development I would think the chances are slim they will ever get rid of it.
Guest DJHope Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Just run "smartclear.exe" from your windows driectory (Danish Update Only) the best virus to date, offically certified by orange it destorys everything in IPSM and your Storage Card. I imagine it serves a purpose, cant think what though? Rename the bastard and claim its a "Certified" killer new app, itd be a right right pain in the arse!
Guest Cent Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 itd be a right right pain in the arse! Actually have done this myself before :) ... Just imagine how powerful the execution of this little toy on a certain date by a certain virus would be

Guest DJHope Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Are you suggesting some GIANT conspiracy by Norton and Mcafee? Maybe you are sugestting they construct virii in order to keep themselves in business? Care to write a brief?, call it the The Worms Brief. DJ Hope
Guest Cent Posted February 23, 2003 Report Posted February 23, 2003 Are you suggesting some GIANT conspiracy by Norton and Mcafee? DJ Hope  I wasn't actually suggesting anything ... I doubt Norton or Mcafee would want to touch Orange Certified Smartphone Development
