SPV returned & contract terminated - worth trying again?

Recommended Posts

After hours and hours of trying to activesync, incl using another cradle, following all the advice here, I returned the phone and cancelled the contract within the 14 days.

I really liked the phone itself but never got a chance to properly trial it.

Is it worth giving it another shot? Has the phone recently been upgraded or are there likely to be any significant mods that will eradicate these problems, speed it up and generally make it the phone it could/should be?

Thanks

Take a look at any number of threads on this board and take note of the update due tomorrow :).

I would give it another chance, get another once the update is out, upgrade and enjoy. The phone ~is~ a good phone once it's configured correctly, you just have to put up with the hickups until you get round them ;)

I don't think you even need to wait for the update to come out, I think it's already available on new phones. There was a post mentioning in a few days ago.

or you might want to wait for the SPVx - easier controls and nicer screen

That'd be an idea, as I don't believe that there are any downsides to it other than the fact that it might cost a bit more.

Actually, the Tanager (the SPVx not contracted to Orange) may be unlocked to networks, so you could connect it to anyone. That'd be good. :)

Jackal, as i understand it tho you will not get another 14 day trial on a new contract! You'll have to check tho with your Orange Dealer.

Get it on mail order from somewhere. UK consumer law dictates that all mail order goods must have 28 day return policy.

Makes me laugh when I see ads that say "with our no quibble 28 day money back guarantee!", when they are obliged to do that by law! Almost as bad as the current car ads on UK TV about how great and low their new prices are. The only reason they came down is because the EU forced them to, because the previous prices were a rip-off!!

Know your rights!! :)
