Guest BAMN Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 My phone has a white line across the screen wich wont go away. I phoned Orange and the told me to take it to carphonewarehouse for a replacement after giving me a falt code. So i take it to carphonewarehouse to be told that they need to send it away for a few weeks and they will give me a trium mars in the mean time. This is even though i have the full insureance. Now ive been told that i need to take it to c CPW service centre and they will look at it strait away but i only found this out by calling the insureance company direct. Bunch of jokers!!!!
Guest Matt Whitfield Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Do you have CPWH insurance or Orange Care tho? I'm guessing the former may not be so good...
Guest BAMN Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 I have CPW insureance. I`m gonna have to phone a cancell it!
Guest mouse_uk Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 ...Umm Bamn in the nicest way possible i'd suggest you read the terms and conditions of that Carphone Warehouse insurence policy in future. I don't think the Carphone Warehouse has a repair station in every highstreet branch now, be reasonable! Carphone Warehouse has stuck to it's policy: 1] They've offered you a temporary phone (whether it's an SPV or not is irrelevant); 2] They're going to fix the fault (at their repair centre). Now i'm in no way associated with the CPW but i do happen to think they offer superb service (from my experience).
Guest jonbob Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Not as good as Orange care - gets you a replacement sent out right away. If you've had the phone less than 28 days the carphone are obliged to give you a replacement whether you have their insurance or not. And they do it right away.
Guest Richie M Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Yep, have to agree with Mouse. CW's T&C are clear enough if you both to read them & (IMHO) is a better policy than the New Orange Care (with which because of the nature of the policy you are left without a phone until the next day).
Guest BAMN Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 its annoying when you are told by orange you would get a replacement with them. And CPW cant do so even after taking £27 or so a quarter. And even more annoying is the fact that i have been told by O that it will just end up been replaced anyway so why put me through all the inconvenience
Guest BAMN Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 ok heres an update. I went to a carphonewarehouse service centre just to be told that they still cant issue a replacement there. Orange are saying that i would have to take out emergancy care wich is £30 + £5 a month because the phone is already falty. So im gonna try the manufaturer so how there warranty works.
