Guest yatpeak Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 You'd better hope that the DK update isn't permanent. Good luck, Wyatt
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 its not all settings are back in english no double re boot on start screen fav settings not in danish could it be that brand new phones have new update on them already, and i just reflashed mine from one of these?????????
Guest SirGaz Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Could be you flashed from a phone that was already updated. You did say it was a new phone and some people have said that the update has been applied to new phones.
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 re flashed rom from full back up taken from new spv
Guest BAMN Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 maybe the spv you flased it from had the update allready. There are reports on here that say the new batch of spvs have the update already.
Guest Shire29 Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 well if you do have the new update, you'd know right ? Any differences ? Cheers, Shire
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 same as dk update, but in english
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Post your software versions, then we can see.
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Programs -> Settings -> About Edit: You do have the updated bootloader anyway :)
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 version3.0 build12255 operator1.1.6.0
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Hmm. they're the old UK s/w versions. You sure you've got the Original UK ROM? Scroll down to see the Manufacturer version. I'm pretty sure that 1.1.6.0 was the original UK Orange/HTC version. Danish version numbers, post-DK-update: MS: Same as yours. Language/Operator/Manufacturer: 1.3.3.22 ...so the UK update will (should) be further advanced than these. I believe Paul's posted the new UK version numbers somewhere but I can't find them right now.
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 the numbers you posted are the ones i got but still pic manager sound manager fav all in english
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Strange. So you have: Operator 1.1.6.0 Manufacturer/Operator: 1.3.3.22 ? Better if you post all the numbers in one shot, as they seem to be conflicting...the Operator/manufacturer version should be the same. Whatever, the manufacturer version number's the same as that for the DK update. The language of the menus and so-on makes no difference; my phone's also running english menus (as does my PC - I'm a brit refugee over here  ) I read here a while back that the reason the DK-updated SPV defaults back to english after a hard-reset is that your ActiveSync's also in english.
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 ok from the top version3.0 build12255 radio version1.23.00 processor arm arm720 rom update version1.1.6.0 manufacturer 1.3.3.22 microsoft 3.0.12255.0 file system3.0.12255.0 hope this helps
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 sorry did,nt make it clear operator 1.1.6.0 manufacturer 1.3.3.22
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 OK. It seems that you have a sort of mix 'n' match of the "old" UK operator software and the latest (DK-update) Manufacturer software. Doesn't sound right, that's for certain - as I said before, the Operator/Manufacturer/Language versions *should* be the same. Any other Brits (in the UK  ) that have installed the DK update care to post your software versions?
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Whatever, woody, it looks as though you might need to make another trip to your local Orange store to get it reflashed properly. Just as a matter of interest you said "just put the phone back to UK settings" - how did you save the settings, and *what* did you save? Did you do a complete ROM backup as per DJHope's instructions?
Guest woody Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 new spv /save all/on to sd card 128mb/passed/my phone reboot /passed.
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 That's weird - have you tried restoring the backup again?
