Manually changing ROM Version

The new UK update wont install over a DK one right? The only way that the UK update knows that you've got the wrong one is by checking the ROM versions right?

And the ROM version is stored somewhere on the SPV...so surely if we can find this file and edit it to make it think it's a UK Spv then the new UK update should install on it right???

Problem is how do I do it?
