Guest spikex Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Now that most of you have got the UK update and have got it running, was it really worth the wait? Did it fix all your problems? Should it of taken so long to be released? Are their any differences to the DK update version? Maybe and maybe not.... What do you think? Spike.
Guest the-bunker Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 It didn't fix my "stuck in headset profile" problem, which apparently only the manufacturers can fix...
Guest PsychoDave Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Have you tried the old blow in the headphone socket trick.. You probly have but it happenend to me and I had to blow pretty hard (ooo er) to clear the dust out but it worked.. Take it easy
Guest mike-oh Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 i had the stuck in profile thing happen for the 2nd time this weekend, but this time i knew what to do; unplug and plug in the headset like mad and eventualy it gets the idea! (think it's somat to do with it shorting out.....might explain why someone had trouble hearing me when i called them with the headset plugged in, yet it was fine after i'd sorted the prob)
Guest the-bunker Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Thanx for the tips - I've tried all the suggestions I can find on this site, but it keeps happening. What's most annoying is I don't even need to plug the headset in !! Just docking the SPV sometimes makes it switch to headset... The wiggle trick works for a while... Oh well - guess I'll just have to be without it for a week or so, while they fix it...
Guest Spen Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 Sending it back was the best thing i did. works how it is meant to now. much less stress
Guest aarrgghh Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 To get back on topic, yes the update was worth it. The camera is now usable thanks to picture manager. The performance increase makes the whole phone much more usable. You can still de-cert the phone. Battery life should be better (time will tell) I can't think of anything bad about the update, other than the impatient muppets that filled this mornings modaco 'I've got the update' thread with complete $h1t3.
Guest ajb3000 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 yes it's good, but shouldn't have taken as long as it did.
Guest simonastro Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I still think they shud have addressed the voice tags issue I know I've ranted about it before BUT despite all my efforts to get an answer there has bin nothing eventually got given a fax technical number and faxed by complaints. got a phone call from miss pleasant but know nothing who offered to put me through to 156 !! back to the thread - nice improved responsivity the manager apps r useful but shud have bin there 1st time at the end of the day though, we're not beta testers, we're not O's guinea pigs, we're probably the most technically minded customer base a mobile operator could have how this phone is supposed to be a business fone is beyond me too fiddly by half I've read a lot of rants I've read a few "chill out they're only human" posts they're not human they're a multibillion pound communications company foisting an incomplete and bug ridden product on a few technojunkies. personally I can't wait to have a communication chip in the back of my head but I'd think twice before letting Orange install it !! when's the next s*dding update eh?
