Has any1 with windows me installed new update

:evil: I have tried and tried to find a workaround to get thw new update install on my spv. i,m using windows me and every time i run the installation prosess i get the same message error as follows.

Caupgradeut has caused an error in XAHOOK DLL

has anyone found a way around this problem using windowsME, I,ve spoken to Orange tech help line but their as much use as a WET FART on a Cold Day.

As any1 got around this problem please please HELP :evil: :wink:

This is a known problem (and discussed on several other threads). Please search before creating a new thread :wink:

The problem is with Windows ME only. Orange have said that a fix for the bug will be provided around 11am today (allegedly)

Wot bout win98.i'm getting xp in a day or so but i want update now lol :) it comes up with with that "kaup...." word in an illegal operation window and just closes down. Will this 11am download fix the prob.??

There's some suggestion on the Microsoft Smartphones Newsgroup that it applies to a lot of Win98SE machines as well - I know that I have got the problem as well so am hoping that the WinME fix will work else I'll have to go to the Orange shop and have a nice argument with them to get them to upgrade for me.

98 and ME are pretty much the same thing, so a bug affecting one will more than likely affect the other.
