Guest Geniarse Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I've not been a great fan over the past 2-3 months of Orange but since yesterday my 'phone has been 'locked' on the Headset Profile which on searching the forums has happended to other punters and is down to a hardware fault on the 2.5m jack. Imagine my astonishment on speaking to a customer rep who without any prompting is sending out a replacement handset tomorrow and get this... at a time I specified!! Wonders will never cease! :)
Guest HelloDave Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 O sent me a replacement very quickly when I had the same problem, and I phoned them at 4am! The delivery guy was half an hour late, but getting a time specified more accurately than "morning" was astonishing, so i'll let him off

Wonders will never cease! :) It's actually built in to the script that goes with the diagnostics software., complete with a tick-box. It's supposed to be followed by a warning that having agreed to a specific time and day for pickup, if you aren't there at the time you picked, YOU pick up the £13 re-delivery charge (which seems perfectly fair!) on your next bill. Point is... sometimes O really DO get it right - your treatement in this case wasn't special - just normal routine for all users and all phones.
Guest HelloDave Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I never got told about the £13. If they'd tried to charge me...

They'd probably have a liability to do so if I were a customer (and not a business) under the Unfair Clauses in Consumer Contract Regulations.
Guest Big Ron - No Longer a Mem Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Another point worth noting... When they get to the point in the script where you indicate what time you want the delivery, they press enter, and that's IT. Suddenly remembering at THAT point that you'd promised to take Aunt Fanny to the station... doesn't have a box to tick. The message has been sent to the despatch people, and it cannot be UNsent. If you want to change your mind, it'll cost you £13.
