Guest jaywalker Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Updated all fine, nothing bad happened, however since then i haven't been able to connect to any websites, or email or anything.. is there a way to check the gprs settings are correct. .all mine seem to say are orangepoint, and everything else is blank (assume some sort of dhcp server in action here)
Guest purplebadger Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I called 156 about my GPRS settings and got the following: In your GPRS connection, your access point should be 'orangeinternet' (without the quotes obviously) and the primary and secondary dns should be: 158.43.192.01 158.43.128.01 Respectively. Your username, password and IP address should be blank. Set your internet connection (in Data Connections) to automatic. Once you've made the changes it should work though I had to reboot my phone to log back on. Tom
Guest jaywalker Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Did that.. still says not able to place `call`
Guest jaywalker Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Hmm strange.. MSN works fine.. so it must be a setting somewhere which is not working properly.
Guest jaywalker Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Solved it.. IE settings were reset to `Wap Network` Not internet. :)
Guest SirGaz Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 OK guys and gals Loaded the update last night and everything went smoothly. However after reading through the many millions of posting from last nigh/this morning I notice one or two having problems with GPRS so I thought I'd try mine out. Guess what? It doesn't work. When I try to download a web site, IE displays a white screen with the fluttering flag in the top right corner. In the title bar bit it displays "dialling" and that is all, it never goes off of that. I have both the Big G before I start and the little G is also displayed as soon as I try to access a page. I've checked the settings and although the Primary and secondary DNS settings had been removed, I've put those back and made sure all the other setting are correct. I've even powered down and restarted incase that was required. Anyone any further ideas? Anyone else experiencing these symptoms?
Guest madu Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 SirGaz Have a look here: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=4025
Guest SirGaz Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Cheers Madukrainian. However that's not quite what I've been getting. I don't get the "Untitled" banner, it stays on dialling (I left it for about a minute and it doesn't do anything else). I think a hard reset is the only option but I am so loathed to doing that, especially seeing as I can't backup now. Oh well, off home now so I'll see in anyone else posts some helpful hints in the mean time.
Guest smokedog Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I'm having problems with my GPRS too, not sure if its a orange network problem. It was working fine last night after the update.
