Is there a way of linking the sounds to your storage card and gettin away with it or like changing paths one way or another?

Good idea. I just looked into this. There is an entry for each sound that you have selected, in the registry. I couldn't find one that mentions where the user sounds directory is stored. However, I did find ones listing the actual sounds you have selected.

So, you could do it by:

1) Copy the sound you want to the normal place

2) Copy the sound you want to your storage card

3) Select the desired ringtone as normal

4) Open the registry editor and go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/ControlPanel/Sounds/Ringtone0

5) Edit the "Sound" value and point it to the new path

6) Delete the original sound from IPSM

You may need to reboot. You will also lose the change if you reselect another ringtone through the GUI. To counter this, you could export that part of the registy to a file and import as required.

Usual disclaimer applies: The registry is pretty important. Break it, you could be forced to reset your phone. Take care when changing anything and always note original settings. Don't change serveral things at once, make small changes then test. Do all this at your own risk. etc.

Also, the phone will be confused if you use a different card that doesn't contain the sound. As this isn't designed for, I wouldn't expect the phone to handle it gracefully, but it might just revert to another one.
