(this kept in or taken out)

I've made the changes to the code etc, but when it comes to deleting the ISPM it does that fine, but I don't get an option on 3 once I click lefy twice. I think I get a problem here, can anyone advise?

Many thanks

delete that extra line (parm name="4111")

What does this line do? I left it in and still managed to de-cert my phone. Any ideas anyone?

Editing the file is not the hard bit when it comes to decerting the phone. I cannot get the new file to save on the phone. I must have tried 20 - 30 times and I cannot get it to save. It will copy OK to the windows folder but it does not seem to work and if I turn my phone off then back on the date on the file is still 07/02. I have tried the SIM lock but it seems to take for ever for my computer to make a connection with the phone.

If anybody has any ideas I would love to hear them.

It worked first time for me, probably because I've read that it's quite hard to do, and my mouse just wouldn't say no to being clicked.

While you've got an activesync connection still available, goto the windows folder on the spv. Keep it open! Remove the phone from the cradle and do the deed.

Turn it back on and put the spv in the cradle.

Keep your mouse cursor poised over the mxip_oem_10.provxml file you've edited. As soon as you hear the multi-tone connect sound (not the USB one, the activesync one), drag the file into the windows folder you've left open. Agree to the copying and overwriting. You don't need refresh the view of "Windows", just do the copy blindly. Now just wait and see. Hopefully you'll be able to pass go and collect 200, rather than go back to old orange phone.

I managed to do it well within one second of hearing the tones, and it was very easy.

I found that if yu "copy" the file from the right click menu and then use right click paste in the windows folder you get a better chance of it working.

Might just have been me tho :oops: Hope it helps.

I've tried to do this 25 times now, still no joy. I edit the file. Erase the IPSM. Replace the SPV into the Cradle on the switching to the Blue startup screen.

I copy the xml file to windows directory, when hearing the activesync connection

The bloody thing keeps displaying the homescreen before showing me the windows directory. Then copies the xml file.

Reset the phone, xml date has changed back. I've tried all ways.

Oh and there is a card in the slot due this...

anyone?

at least you know how to edit the file

Just use Note pad. It will same it alright. You will need to right click on the file before you start and turn off the read only flag otherwise it won't let you save it with the same name.

We have the same problem with an UK SPV here. Edit the file, but after restarting the SPV - the file is the old one. :cry:

ok getting really confused now. everytime i alter the files, they are saving as a text document rather than an xml file. what am i doing wrong?

read only wasnt enabled anyway, but archive is. i tried turning that off but the same thing happens.......?

When you save the file you will see three dialogue boxes at the bottom.

First = file name

second = file type (change this to all files otherwise an extension of txt is applied)

third = ignore.

Good luck!

You don't actually need to see the files in the windows directory, you just need to have had explorer previously open at {Smartphone}Windows (before reset when it was connected) and then just drag the file into the blank window when you hear the activesync connection tones.

The trouble is I do not get the activesync tone until windows is running and the home screen is loaded on the phone. My understanding is that it is too late at this point. ????

No, it's not too late at that point. It can take a couple of minutes for the file to be processed so still copy them over. You may have to wait a couple of minutes until you can be certain the process hasn't worked.

Not always too late; When I successfully did it, the phone was already on the 'enter PIN screen' when the files were being copied to the windows folder, so I was pretty sure I had failed. Not so, it had worked!

Also worth noting that I tried loads of times on my Office PC without success, just a few times on my home PC before it worked. You could try swapping the USB port you're connected to, it might make a difference. Anything is worth a try!

What is a quick easy wy to see if the decert has worked?

I have tried again this morning about 10 times still with no joy. Is there anyway to speed up activesync or stop it trying to do some file conversion, or better still, stop it trying to set up a new partnership? The partnership issues seems to slow the copying process down (it takes bloody ages on my machine even though it is of a good spec??)

Yep, it went to the homescreen before activesync reared it's little green head.

Same problem here no matter how many times I try, and I have now lost count how many, I have been trying to nearly 5 hours but still no luck. My phone gets to the pin screen before I can start to copy the file across. It seems to do it, I check the date modified on the one on my phone and it says it is the new on, but it hasn't been taken, as soon as I try to install something un-certed it say it has no cert. HELP!!!!
