Guest stevef Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Can anyone tell me how to access files stored on the SD card from the handset. I'm happy accessing the data via my PC but cannot find the card on the phone. Thanks :?
Guest jaknife2000 Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Define Data ? Things like mp3 files will work within Media player automatically. If you need to insert or read things like photos, or txt files etc, you need a seperate application. If you handset is quite new, and has not been unlocked, my advice would be install the All-Locations Explorer trial thats comes on the 8mb SD card that came with the handset. Its like a windows explorer for your SPV. I hope this helps.
Guest yatpeak Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 If you just want to see what's on it, or open specific things, try all-explorer or smart-explorer( freeware available in the software section). Wyatt
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Without all-explorer or smart explorer you cannot view files on the memory card :) one app thats hould have been included with the phone. all-explorer can run on any SPV but smart explorer can only be run on SPV's that have had the certification removed.
Guest skel28 Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Our spv is about a month old and we have done all the tricks we can on it. It is now unlocked and de-certified. We bought a 32Mb mmc card as recommended by scancom, from whom we bought the phone, but the phone cannot see it. It doesn't ask to format it and the task manager says no card present. Is it faulty, do you think or is it one of those bug creatures? All help gratefully received.

Are you just one person who talks a bit funny or is there more than one person sharing one phone? If taks manager is saying no card present then it may be the card at fault. Can you do a format card using task manager?
Guest skel28 Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Hey, we're a couple! The card can't be formatted because it doesn't seem to be there. I have just opened the post and received a replacement mmc from the supplier. I wanted a sd card but they sent another of these. I will check it when I get the phone off my other half tonight. Thanks for replying so quickly.
Guest SirGaz Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Don't you ever get wierd calls off of people thinking they are speaking to your other half? No problems on the speedy response, we're all hear to help and some of us spend way too much time on this forum (me included!!). Hope the new card works better.
