Guest rossy Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 I have made quite a few posts as regards this issue.... but I am sure that I am not the only user who uses Line 2 and gets very annoyed with the long winded switching procedure. Now if there are people out there who can write all these nifty apps, decert, and now sim-unlock...... surely somebody must be able to write an app that switches lines. It can't be that hard can it.....???? I just wish I could program! Please help. Cheers, Rossy
Guest looeee Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 rossy I too use (when I can be bothered...too many keypresses) line 2 I'm afraid that from what I've understood from reading modaco that it can't and won't be possible unless orange/microsofr/htc do it. The part of the phone that you operate to switch lines is a part of the Tapi subsystem. Despite de-certing and de-simlocking there is still no way that people can write apps that get near the internal telephony side of things. If it were possible to write code that went into this system then we would have apps that could get us free calls, impersonate other no.s and other naughty things. I too am gutted why don't we start a protest outside orange's hq ? OK i have the marker pen and the placard....... ...hurry up rossy this is serious ... looeee
Guest rossy Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Not sure about that one.... On another software point.... with all these new SMS tools that are surfacing.... how about one that will turn delivery reports on permanently... or is this something that Orange have to do. Does anyone actually have any idea on when the next update will be... or will Orange just forget about it now?
Guest madu Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 I bet they will 'just forget about it now'... Sad tw@s!! But seriously - I guess DAT Systems that made the SMS Tool could rectify a few more issues with the phone - they seem to have some cooperation with O since it got certified and is actually free... PS: Free calls you say?? Gimme gimme gimme!!
