Guest joelj Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 From the MS Smartphone FAQ http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/smartphone...ort/spfaqeu.asp Smartphone 2002 gives handset manufactures the flexibility to support voice recognition. The choice is up to manufacturers and mobile operators that bring devices to market. Orange and HTC decided not to enable voice recognition engine in the Orange SPV. Stay tuned. So.... Does the "voice recognition engine" form part of the SDK? If so, can we not copy the relevant bits over to the (uncerted) SPV? just a thought....
Guest spacemonkey Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 The SDK doesn't give you a copy of the OS for ARM devices so, no, it won't help. At best it might have the files in the emulator, but the emulator files are compiled for x86 processors so won't be any use on the spv. Sorry.
Guest sykix Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 I thought I read somewhere that it was Orange who had to licence software for this, which they didn't want to do. In general though, spacemonkey, which functions are used?
