Guest Spetters Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 I've read about the upcoming Orange release of the new Tanger or SPVx on coolsmartphone.com (cool site btw). Definitely looks much nicer than the old SPV, does anyone know if this is the replace model or whether Orange will sell this along side the old SPV? Also given the comments that the internal components of the phone are the same, does that mean in theory you could purchase the outside casing of the SPVx and put the old SPV internal components into the new casing? Just wondering cuz the new phone is definitely more flash.
Guest tobyfield Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 According to the Orange Press Release, the Tanager (SPVx) will be sold alonside the current SPV. They want to aim the Tanager at gamers and keep the SPV for business users. I assume that the covers would be interchangable, but getting a Tanager case might prove difficult and it would void your warranty if you did.
Guest Gorskar Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 The covers won't be interchangable - the tanager is a different (better imho) shape.
Guest yatpeak Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Also, I believe that it's quite hard to remove the case, and involves prying it off with a knife or screwdriver. Wyatt
