Trapped in a message

I've searched but I can't find any reference to the problem I am having.

When I receive e-mail or an SMS on my phone I often get "trapped" in the message once I have opened it and cannot get back to the inbox to read my other messages. The only way I have found to get back to the inbox is to forward or reply to the message and then hit cancel compose. This closes the message and takes me back to the inbox. Is there a more efficient way, because it is becoming really irritating now? :?:

You should be able to simply press the "back" button (the bottom half of the red hang up button), which closes the message and goes back to inbox

I've had the same problem too, and the back button doesn't work. Not tried it since update though.

I've had this problem with the MMS s/w but only if you move from one message to another directly, eg by using the left and right keys. If you press back after reading each message, then select the next message from the inbox it works fine. To get out of a message I've also had to use the reply workaround; the update hasn't fixed it :)
