Guest chocobogo Posted February 26, 2003 Report Posted February 26, 2003 Every time i boot into my SPV I get a new sms notification and the bottom right buttons displays "Message" but when I click on it it just takes me to my inbox and there is no message there. I have tried the "import from sim" and it imports 8 old messages and i delete these but the spv still shows the SMS count to be 1, but when I go into the inbox it there is no new sms there!!! arggh!!! I have the UK update
Guest lycrawearer Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Previous problem posted by me a few months ago. Have a look at this previous post here on Modaco itself, it may help you resolve it. lycrawearer
Guest Sp3ctre Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Do a SEARCH!! wow.. you're helpful aren't you!? I have done a search and AFAIK there is no solution. The link posted by lycrawearer may or may not work, but has only been d/l'd twice, so i'm not sure. I will try it once i've decerted my phone. My phone currently says there is 3 SMS under the MS Plugin... has seemed to go up since I received sim updates from orange to correct MMS problems when I first got the phone, but i'm not sure whether it's a coincidence. If anyone has any intelligent comments/suggestions I would welcome them, but please don't say "Do a SEARCH!", as most of us have already done that.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Sp3ctre: tried an import from SIM? Probably won't work but its worth a shot...
Guest Will Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 The solution is there, but it's quick and dirty. A call to 156 will give you this info. You will loose all you messages in the inbox. Browse to /IPSM/cemail.vol rename this file to cemail.old reboot and message counter is at 0, and no notification appears on bootup. There is a thread about this. : Modaco post Confirmed it works, but remember to copy or read all your messages.. they will all go! Will
Guest rcoley Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 i have had a similar problem, for some reason when I "import text message from sim" a new message comes up, I delete it but if I import again it still comes back. how the hell, do I erase it permanently?
