Backup then Decert after UK update

Folks,

I am having problems trying to understand the technique for backing up before attempting to do the decert procedure. I've combed the forums but cannot find reliable instructions on doing a backup of the phone. Being a newbie to decert, I would rather backup my phone just incase of any potential problems. Does anybody have any reliable information on doing a backup based on the recent UK update?

BTW: I have looked at the translated french instructions but the translation web tools do not exactly do a great job.

Unfotunately you won;t be able to back up to an SD card post-UK update as it seems HTC have trashed the bootloader :/

You can do it through the USB using a french method, google doesnt do a bad job of translating the page, either. I haven't tried this (probably will later tonight), so i can't confirm it works...

Hi thanks for your reply. I've actually bit the bullet and gone ahead and done the decert. In actual fact, it was really easy and worked first time. I followed Method 1 of coolsmartphone. Took only a few minutes and I was done. I just had to make sure that I done an Orange Backup first so I could save all my contacts and diary entries.

If anybody else is wishing to do the same, the only thing I did differently is only edit the file called mxip_oem_10.provxml.
