Guest u03ekw Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 I tried using Windows Movie Maker to save a file (about 20MB) into a *.wmv file (the only format it saves in) which is 3MB - mono sound, small screen etc, and it works perfectly on my windows xp media player 9. however, when i try to play it on spv, i only get sound and no pics. is there a codec i have to download in order to play the vid? Thanks! :)
Guest stu_lowe2003 Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 the spv doesn't support the video if its encoded in windows media encoder v9. (although i did hear some people got it working). In windows movie maker you can set the audio to v9 but the video needs changing to version 7 or 8. An even easier way to do it if you are just recompressing movie files is to download windows media encoder from the microsoft site. Version 8 of this works fine and is less hassle than movie maker. Hope this helps Stu
