Guest u03ekw Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 hmm.. my spv doesnt seem to limit the amount of characters i am allowed to type in an sms. isnt the limit usually 160? anyway, i tried sending double that and got charged for 2 sms-es. is there an sms counter for the phone? or do i have to do the counting manually? thanks!
Guest SirGaz Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 No there isn't an SMS counter. Bit of an ommission from Microsoft but never mind. Apparently (I haven't tried it) if you stop your test on the next to bottom line then that is roughly 160 characters. Until someone updates the software then we are going to have to live it I'm affraid
Guest orange_sandman Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 SPV uses the concatenated messaging system that orange developed for nokias. (Didnt make the word up, but I think Orange did). Allows you to send much longer messages by breaking them into separate messages. On the nokias a i think it gave a maximum of arround 600 characters, but not sure what the SPV is limited to. (Has anyone wasted their money in testing how many messages it will join together?)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 On the nokia 3330 I think I remember the message length being 450 caracters long.
