Guest synergie7 Posted February 27, 2003 Report Posted February 27, 2003 Hi, I'm having problems sync'ing with Outlook 2000. I have loads of contacts, but a lot of them are just email addresses, hence I only want to sync the ones that contain phone numbers. So I've gone through the while lot, assigning the ones with phone numbers to the category "Phone Calls" (as this was one of the standard categories and almost fitted the bill, descriptively !) Anyway. I setup active sync to only sync that Category, but now everytime I sync, it seems to randomly remove them from the category. Has anyone got any ideas about what I'm doing wrong, or what I should be doing. Thanks
Guest the.dude Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 I'm faced with the same problem. Although I haven't yet split my contacts into categories. I was going to do thisat the weekend, howver now reconsidering after reading your comments. If you have any breakthroughs on this please post them here for my benefit. Thanks.
Guest Sarah_SPV Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 I'm probably barking up the completely wrong tree here. The first time you ran the sync did the contacts with phone numbers go across OK? I was just thinking that the SPV might be removing the 'category' attribute from each contact because it doesn't recognise it and when you sync back to Outlook you're back to square one. Not too sure how you'd get around this, but I'll look on my PC at home when I get back and investigate - although I'm sure one of the eggheads on here :) will get back to you before I even finish typing this!
