Guest Pagemakers Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Can anyone with an SPVx please confirm that the phone has "proper" buttons designed for human fingers and not tiny hard to press lumps of crap, like another well know phone I could mention.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Yep, lovely proper buttons :) P
Guest Pagemakers Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Ooooh - I can only dream and wait for April
Guest wirefree90 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 And the SPV doesn't even have the smallest buttons on a handset.
Guest vampyre69 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Where can I see picture/photos dirty little exposing shots?
Guest TooMuch2AM Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 See it here: http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/3108.html But the 'proper' buttons are a trade off against the nasty 'nokia-esque' case I think...
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 So are we going to be offered a free upgrade. I for one would love a phone with better keys.
Guest vampyre69 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 There's only one improvement or one better key that i can see... The return/back key is positioned further away from the end call key which is better... no more ending msn sessions because I pushed end call rather than delete while typeing  Oh and possibly the keys look 'softer' Other than that the top looks a bit siemens-esque curve. Not sure whether i like it, a bit too 'nokia users come here look what i got for ya' look really for me. Q. Will the keypad lights be blue and the face interchangable and get flashing battery covers (joke)
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 yes but apparantly the screen will be better too.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Tanager spills its guts... Credit to the bloke that found the page, cba to look up the post url again sorry :)
Guest matt.waterton Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 in theory then....can get SPVx outside (keys an all) but use our SPV inside....or am i talking b.l.ox??
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Why would you want to do that? P
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Ah right, I see where you're coming from. Hmmm, would be interesting to try... and NO! I'm not butchering my SPV and Tanager... :) P
Guest sbsdegb1 Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 How did you get hold of a Tanager then ?
Guest Thurstan Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 okay slightly off-topic, but my mate recently got his SPV replaced, and his screen is lightyears better than mine, much brighter and clearer. Plus when you go through the Programs menu on his phone it's lightning-quick. I must admit I'd never really noticed a problem with mine till I had a go on his...
Guest benzo Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 U look like the fire fighter bloke from Hollyoaks..
Guest The unexpected guest ! Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Sounds ok for me :)
Guest tomdbomb61 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 so will the people who adopted the SPV early be giving a discount when purchasing or upgrading their handset to the spvx do we's think? tom
Guest SeaneyC Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Wouldn't expect it. If you bought the latest model of car, and then wanted next seasons model, would you expect a discount (bearing in mind you would be keeping your old car) just because you bought last years one? Maybe you would? Personally i think orange will charge the same for the SPVx and maybe reduce the SPV a tad. I don't like the idea of a joystick thingy either, i've yet to see one that hasn't broken on a phone after 3 months heavy use. The only swinger could be if it had better battery life, but that's a totally different issue altogether.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Why do people so badly want to replace their SPV for a Tanager? How much better can technology have gotten in less than half a year? Wyatt
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I would ~hope~ Orange charge the same for both as they effectively are...
Guest Maverick Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Has anybody with both the Canary and Tanager tried interchanging the covers ?? 8) I hope they fit !! I guess other than the front cover and the screen, we can live with our 'old' SPV.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 err no the phones are different shapes  so it wouls be impossible. would have been nice though
Guest jtsaint Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Perhaps your fingers are too fat - how about getting yourself a dialing wand.
Guest Playdoh Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Some nice high res pix of SPVx (albeit the Phillipines version from Smart) at http://www.ppcw.net/index.php?area=story&s...tory=1046445975 kudos to Arne
