Guest muff Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 the SPV is flashable and the whole system can be re-written with this flash function (including the boot loader as we discover in the latest UK patch) if we(the community) can work out the format of these files, would could theoretically make it so the phone is app-cracked this way OR even rewrite the way the whole phone works :) now I do realise that this is not a small undertaking, but was just curious to put the idea out there muff
Guest Lojt Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Someone already modified the danish update to fix the bugs it had. So yes, it is possible.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=3406 :)
Guest DJHope Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 And the very same person claims to have linux booting on SPV!
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Yes but he actually ~has~ cracked the SPV firmware, theres no solid evidence for booting linux on it other than a few grimey photographs....
Guest amo Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I wont beleive linux is booting on an spv untill I see it for myself
Guest RCAM Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I am sure Florin really has linux running. Its pointless for now, but he has never mislead us and there is no reason for him to waste his time pretending he has done it.
Guest muff Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I'd love anything but windows on there - in fact DOS would be cool that way there is no OS overhead when you want to play your games :)
