Does UK update remove De-cert status?

Quick question;

Does the UK update remove the de-cert status of the phone? I just unlocked it and have a few apps on it now...will they still work? I know I can always do it again, but would like to know before I update.

ps tried to update on the morning it was released, ended up with a completely dead phone. Took it to local Orange shop - 'it's dead mate' 20 mins later - 'no problem sir, come in tomorrow and pick up a new phone' Way to go Orange!

It shouldn't affect the de-cert status.

This has been asked and answered many times allready.
