Guest laxxe Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Hi! I'm trying to unlock a SPV here. I've got the code, but at the screen that says "Enter SIM Unlocking code" is also says "The password is invalid. Please retry after 7680 seconds." What's wrong? I HAVE waited 7680 seconds (128 minutes!) - but nothing happens?
Guest agent.m Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 wait a bit longer. If the message asking to wait 7680 seconds is gone and there is just a box to type code. then its ready. if not i dont know but to wait. p.s. I waited about two hours. guess it cant count :)
Guest laxxe Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 I've waited MUCH longer! I got the phone from a customer, and it already said that when it arrived (with the post). Is this some kind of protection, that's increasing each time a wrong code is entered? Eg. first says "wait 60 seconds", then 120 seconds and so on? Can I wait with the phone turned off? Or does I HAVE to wait at the screen where it asks me to wait? (I need to use the SIM card in another phone, can't be without access to it). Thanks for your reply!
Guest Shuflie Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Haven't experienced this my self but I'd imagine that you have to wait with the phone switched on and on the unlock screen.
Guest daveng Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 This is indeed a protection, it starts at 30 seconds and double each time you enter a wrong code. You'll have to wait, then you should be able to enter the unlock code. I stopped playing around with mine at 240 seconds.. then I waited for the unlock code from Orange (which took more than 240 seconds to come!) When mine said 240 seconds, I had to wait until is asked me the code (I didn't look if it was 4 minutes, but it seemed a long time).
Guest laxxe Posted February 28, 2003 Report Posted February 28, 2003 Well, I now had the phone turned on for quite some hours (at the unlock screen) - and I've just come home, and could type in the unlock code. A pretty smart "protection" (and annoying! :-))
