Before I buy ...

Hello,

First, many thanks for the site.

And then some questions. I am very tempted to get the SPV, but need some feedback. I did look at a lot of posts, surely not all.

My questions are:

1. I rely on Outlook Notes quite a bit for most things. Does SPV have the ability to edit/create/sync these? I have seen a post which would suggest it doesn't, but couldn't even find John's software here ...

2. I know I'll need a car charger and a normal hands free headset without the fancy stereo stuff. I read the post about using te O2 charger, but is there a dedicated one?

3. (speculative) What do you think, will Orange allow external applications in the end? So far they have a monopoly here, so maybe not? Perhaps I should wait a bit and use my simple and small Nokia 8310 and the old Palm, which the SPV is supposed to replace ...

I'll probably have more questions once I hang up, but hey ...

Best wishes,

Wlodek

No problem :D

Nope, no support for Outlook Notes at all... a big omission in my view!

Not yet, but the XDA Charger / Sync & Charge works a treat (I recommend gomadic.com)

It looks as though Orange aren't going to back down. They ARE going to back the developer process easier, but they won't unlock the phones.

Hi,

Are you saying that the SPV using the same charging units as the XDA?? ie, the car charger would work as well as the sync-n-charge??

Thanks

That is correct...

I bought a usb sync n charge lead with a car fag lighter usb plug (power only :D ) - seems to work fine both USB and in car

cost me $19.95 ($27.95 inc p+p) from states (see hardware section for link)
