Guest MARKUKCOUK Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Hi! I saw pocket streets running on a IPAQ the other day. VERY impressed, but I cant install the pocket pc version on my phone. Would a nice developer look into the possibility of porting it over? PLeassssssssssssssssssssssssssse :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 That's one that I would want as well, but I don't know if the phone could handle it? any idea on the specs required?
Guest Tachyon Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 It looks a simple enough app, since all it effectively does is display a simple map generated by the PC version of AutoRoute. Pocket Streets is a Microsoft app, though... ATB, Frank.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 I know for a fact that you can run a full navigation application on the SPV. A software company at the GSM world congress showed one running smoothly with just an external GPS connected by serial cable. Vector map, voice instructions, I've had a play with it, and it's a winner as far as I'm concerned. I hope Orange markets it soon, cuz I don't think the software company will sell it uncertified...
Guest neilfenstein Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 We only have dial up internet at work and when the phone exchange was down i showed my friend directions using streemap.co.uk! Very handy writing is a bit too small but is still cool to be able to do! :)
