Yet it won't tell u how many characters you've typed in a message :) we were hoping for a fix in the update but no luck unfortunately. But you've found the right place to keep a check on things. Welcome to the forum. Just a quick note, next time try a search this had been mentioned before and people can get a bit stroppy when people don't search the forum, however people are generally kinder and more forgiving in the beginners section.
