IR not working with Pocket PC Device including Modem

New SPV user , can't use IR modem and can't exchange contacts etc with IPAQ 3970 . Tried IR exchange with Ipaq and several devices worked fine!! Is this me ? If so please tell me where I'm going wrong . If not please post as bug.

I couldn't recieve Business Cards from my 7110 over IR - I rebooted the phone (the SPV, not the 7110), and it just started working!

There's definitely a bug here ... just not where you think it is.

I'll try the hard reset .. Thanks... Still a bug though I think , I really don't want to hard reset my device every time i wish to use the IR port.

I have a 3970 , and I have installed the new EUU . Tried again last night after hard reseting the Ipaq . Still the same the phone locks. Any help with this would be appressiated.. :D

This got put on a back burner today because of other issues. I will be working again on it tomorrow. I will let you know then. 8)

Might be able to help here . The Ipaqs before the 3900 series had normal microsoft IR stack. The 3900 series is the only one with the consumer IR !! Could this make a difference.

Yeah. This is more than likely the issue and HP have put a patch up for it. I have downloaded the patch but have yet to test.

Also doesn't work with Nokia 8210 or palm handheld from experience. Phone / palm says sending then sent. Phone says Searching ...

I have no problems connecting the device to palm 4.0 upwards for csd or gprs.

:D I loaded the IR update from Compaq , Hp (Whatever they are now) Tried to send to smartphone. Sat pending for ages then failed. Tried again this time the ipaq said it had sent but the SPV locked up again. I think that it is the SPV as my Ipaq can talk to any othe IR device . Palm , Laptop , PC and Printer. !!!

I'm going to load up my Ipaq 3850 (Which is for sale by the way) and see if that works with the SPV.

I downloaded and installed the EUU for the 39** series and soft reset.

I then also downloaded the ir update and soft reset.

I had no problems since. I tried this on several ipaqs and the result was consistent. The ir update on top of the EUU fixes this problem.
