JabberCE and GPRS usage

Hi,

I emailed www.movsoftware.com regarding JabberCE and its GPRS usage. They were kind enough to respond very quickly. Here is what the gentleman at movsoftware had to say:

There is no trial version available, but there will be some GPRS usage specs on the web site soon.  

 

Preliminary tests show usage as follows:

 

Login/Medium Size Roster/No Roster Caching/No SSL

20.13kb Receive

4.63kb Send

0.39kb to send the message "Hello"

I found that since it was not optimised for any specific chat program it didn't work very well, and you have to add all of your contacts all over again, and wasn't very reliable (especially when connecting), but some people have found it useful.
