Guest charlbury Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Hi Has anyone figured out how to save a number dutring a telephone call? On all my old Nokia phones, if you were on a call and someone gave you a telephone number, you could tap it into the phone and then when you hung up you could save the number as a new entry in the phone list. If you try to do this on the SPV the number is lost as soon as you hang up. Any suggestions? Thanks Steve
Guest Tachyon Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Nope, can't figure that one out, and it bugs me as well. My old Nokia could, as could my old Samsung and an Ericsson I once had. It wouldn't be so bad if you could actually use teh voice recording during a call :) ATB, Frank.
Guest HelloDave Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Easy :) - Press home - Enter the number - Click the right softkey and choose save contact - Save the contact as you normally would Remember that the call progress screen is like any other app, and this is a multitasking OS, so in theory you can run any app you like while on the phone - notepad etc (though i've never tried playing GNUBoy!). Keep pressing back to get back to the call progress screen.
Guest charlbury Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Whahey, thanks, that'll do nicely. Interesting comment about using the voice recording during call! Is this completely not possible then? Steve
Guest simonastro Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 shame that - on my sl42e if u suddenly felt u needed to record the call (say someone starts using threatening language) u just pressed the side button and bingo. should really be addressed in next update dont u think. not that I'm the litigious type !
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 We've been over and over and over the call record funtion and all of its pro's and con's ta ;p
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I have tried playing GnuBoy during a call, and I'm happy to report that it works just fine. Doesn't even really slow down... It's a bit annoying at the other end, cuz you can hear all the keypresses!
Guest yatpeak Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Wow, playing games while on a call... this phone really is great! Wyatt
Guest barncourt Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I think you can save an inbound number during a call, certainly it works afterwards. If you press "Home", "Call History", select the entry you want to record(the first will be the number of the last person calling you), press "Save", pick the contact you want to update or select "New Item". Then scroll to the field you want to paste the number into, press "Insert" and voila !! Took me ages to suss this one out! :)
Guest SirGaz Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 You can certainly do that if the person phoned you on the number you want to save, otherwise you have to use the method mentioned by HelloDave
