Guest grubi Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 how can i reset the SPV totaly ? after i press voice+power + action key it will only see a menue with empty entries except the last one ? is this normal ? how can i reset the spv with new software ? thanks, peter
Guest SirGaz Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Using the method you have stated, you need to select "Erase IPSM". This removes all the software ont he phone. WHen you power it back up again the software is restored from ROM creating an out of the box system.
Guest yatpeak Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 If you can only see one option, try scrolling through the menus as I believe there should be quite a few of them. Good luck, Wyatt
Guest rcoley Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 i have tried this since the upgrade but everytime i press the on+voice button i only get the canary screen. how do i reset?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Make sure you have a storage card in as this slows down the process. You can still get to the diagnotic screen, it's just harder to do :)
Guest Playdoh Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 and remembe that when you reboot following this, the Orange sunset screen sits there for a while (~3 mins I think). Don't be tempted to remove the battery whilst you panic at this point - it's normal behaviour and after the wait your SPV will power up normally. This delay only happens the first time after a "hard reset"
Guest rcoley Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 i do have a storage card in and hold the power button and voice button together and it always goes to the canary screen. i have adhered to the previous replies but still can't get to the menu. it says to me to press the action key to get to bootloader, i do and it gives me the canary screen. no menus.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 Sorry that's because you are not pressing it quick enough and remember you have to press the action button for two seconds. I know it can be a pain to do :)
Guest Michael Eyres Posted March 3, 2003 Report Posted March 3, 2003 I've managed reboot many many time now in the past... Don't even ask me for a list of why's.. Definite trick to it... hold the action key down is the main problem must be until menu comes up.. However since the upgrade I too do not get all the menu's showing... just grey boxes and numbers. Total re upload of upgrade did not fix the problem... I manage to get reoot ok without seeing the menu's I use to.. i.e. Save and so on... anyone else not see the menu's and how did they get them back ?
