Guest okocha10 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 i posted this in an existing topic about the gnuboy, but i dnt think any1 is taking interest.my problem is that i have put the .exe file in my storage card, created a shortcut into ipsm/windows/start menu.then when i go 2 open it from the fone all i get is a white screen,i leave it for a while but stil nothin??i even tried putting a rom on my storage card, but stil nothin.is that the gnuboy is really, really slow 2 open up,or is sumthing wrong???
Guest blade001 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 Try puting the rom and the exe file in the same directory. for example "Storage CardGamesGame boy". and make sure all your roms are either gb or gbc as the emulator only support these two format at the moment. the emolator doesnt support any gameboy advance rom yet. so if you put gba file the emulator will not sho anything in the white window otehr wise it should show you all the roms. its more likely you are puttinghte rom file and that is what causing the problem. hope that help :)
Guest okocha10 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 yeah its prob the rom its stil in .rar,i tried using winace, but it says it cant be extracted propery, ill have 2 get winrar
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 The problem with rar is they recently updated the compression method. That means any older decompression app won't extract it. A new version of winace/winrar/ultimate zip whatever should have no problem uncompressing it.
Guest okocha10 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 cheers monkey, now when i open gnuboy,it has the game file "******.gba" then wen i click on the file with the action button the top part changes from "gnuboy 0.93" to "gnuboy ce" then it just returns 2 the menu with gnuboy in it???????? :) also another file appears in the folder with the game, with the extension .000,is this normal? p.s. the menus @ the bottom 'home' and 'menu' are non respondant
Guest spacemonkey Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 OK. The .000 file is normal, this is the state of your game. This means that when you rerun it you will go straight back in where you were when you quit. Now, why it doesn't work.... what you have there is a gameboy advance rom (.gba) this won't work. The emulator only runs gameboy and gameboy color games (.gb and .gbc) It is unlikely that SPV is powerful enough for an emulator to run gameboy advance games.
Guest okocha10 Posted March 1, 2003 Report Posted March 1, 2003 yeah i downloaded it a while ago,must of forgot 2 check,cheers like monkey.
