Guest Maverick Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Where can I find reference material on Embedded VC++ programming (An online reference would be wonderfull, but I dont mind buying a book).. What I want is a begineer's guide.. Though I have done a bit of VC++ (Ver 1.0 !!) coding way back in 1996 during my Engg college days, I hardly seem to remember anything .... Blame Java for that !!  :!:
Guest Maverick Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Sigh... Guess I am on my own..   :!: :?:
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Give it time, not every one of the 3000+ members will see you post in 4 1/2 hours. And out of those how many know about programming? Have fun take a deep breath and relax :)
Guest HelloDave Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I know it sounds obvious, but the SDK docs aren't really that bad. I'm learning (or trying to learn) SmartPhone programming from scratch - I already know C, VB and Java, but not any Windows programming in C(++) at all. Once i've figured out windows programming it isn't a giant leap to Windows CE - the basic concepts are fairly similar. I didn't find loads of Win 32 programming tutorials on the net, but the one at http://www.winprog.org/tutorial/ was enought to get me started. If you want a book, maybe finding one one on generic Windows CE programming would be easier, but you'll need to know a bit about basic windows programming first (the message loop, handling events etc).
