Guest ajb3000 Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I'm not sure if I've only just noticed it or if it just started doing it, but whenever the speaker makes any noise at all (in a call, playing mp3s etc.), I get a static noise comming through aswell. Can you listen to yours and see if you get the same or if my handset has developed a rather annoying fault.

Guest Syvwlch Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Haven't noticed any static, although i think it's a shame how badly the audio is shielded from the GSM radio (that well-known galloping staccato sound). During calls, even! Shame on HTC...
Guest Jeeves Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 can't say i have that problem either, all sounds perfectly clear (aside from the occasional stuttering). only thing i have is that bloody beeping in PC speakers when you use GPRS and have it on the cradle.
Guest ajb3000 Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 We'll I only just noticed it so I'm presuming it's only just started doing it. Do you reckon I could get it replaced/repaired on insurance? I'm with Carphone Warehouse insurance at the mo (i know i know, i just haven't got round to cancelling it and signing up for orange care yet).
Guest woody Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 my speaker is fine 28 views, might be they were guests and could not reply
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Sounds awfully thin for a replacement on insurance... and hasn't Paul locked a previous discussion on how to get a phone replaced cuz the subject was a bit off-colour?
Guest ajb3000 Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Could it be a result of spilling vinigar on my phone a few weeks ago? Would this still be covered by insurance?
Guest ajb3000 Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 I'm not trying to get a replacement cus I want a new phone, I just want my phone to work how it should and now I know the static sound is there it's rather annoying. I'd be perfectly happy with it being repaired instead of replaced if it is indeeed a fault.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 2, 2003 Report Posted March 2, 2003 Can't say I dissagree with you. Used to work for a phone manufacturer, this is work we outsource to special companies. My experience of repair services on such faults is that they keep the phone for a coupla weeks, then return it in the state you sent it to them. They've usualy tested it, noticed nothing special, and sent it back NTF, No Trouble Found.
