Even though I changed email to POP3 on the SPV and de-selected inbox synchronisation when installing/setting up Activesync; it switched the SPV back to IMAP and synched outlook - including all the folders.

So I switched back to POP3, but find that all the outlook folders are still on the SPV (but empty).

Has anyone else had this problem & has anyone been able to sucessfully get rid of the empty folders...

similar, but different ...

having finally got pop3/smtp email working via GPRS, I thought I would use ActiveSync to transfer a couple of messages from the SPV inbox, because the SPV appeared to be freezing when I tried to get into the inbox.

As soon as I syncd, it told me it was disabling pop3 email because I was using sync for Inbox. Now I've switched off the Inbox sync, but I still can't re-enable email on the SPV - anybody know why? ta

I've noted this - I often switch back and forth between ActiveSync connectivity to my Outlook and GPRS/Internet connectivity. I always have to go through the 'Email Settings' menu item (selectable from within the mail client under Menu -> Options). The settings I've previously used are present; I just have to thumb the 'Next' selection a couple of times and say 'No' to the 'Delete messages from your previous account' warning.

Then I'm set for POP3/SMTP email over GPRS... when I reconnect to my desktop, use ActiveSync for a time then disconnect I need to do this all over again.

Does anyone know if I'm missing a simple fix for this or was the phone designed for use with one primary system for email connectivity?

If it's the latter, I would suggest this is a bug...

Thx.

Check to see if you 've altered the activesync settings on the phone as this gave me problems too, you may find that the phone still thinks its supposed to sync email although the computer doesn't.

Thanks - after a few attempts, including the take the battery out soln, ignoring the warning during the setup wizard, its working again. I would call it a bug, but the fault may lie with ActiveSync.

And to respond to the earlier question, no, I can't get rid of the folder names either.

Seems I am not alone in really being amazed that the SPV will not switch between email sync via GPRS and Activesync. Could somebody clever please write a program which will do the necessary switching automatically? I would certainly be happy to pay if it were a commerical program.

Regards

Richard
