And oh how glad am I that I did!

Working yesterday, up a set of ladders with the SPV in its leather-ette case attached to my belt when I pressed it (accidentally and not very hard) onto one of the runs of steps. Immediately look at it because of my paranoia with mobiles and low and behold the screen was completely f***ed!

Basically, the outer plastic screen was OK, no scrathes but it seems it had been momentarily pushed onto the inner screen and this had damaged it beyond repair. The matrix display was partially black, white and random lines of colours. Nothing readable or even viewable! I am seriously amazed at how little force was needed to do this to the phone.

Anyway, ring 150, through menu's till speak to insurance rep, she organises for a replacement delivered today. Very impressed at that level of service, first time I've had something good to say about Orange!!!

Things is, said new SPV was not graced with the update and so have successfully installed the update for the second time and had no trouble may I add.

So, be careful of the screen folks, especially if you havent got insurance!

Wow, that was a piece of luck! Insurance is certainly a good thing to have!
