Guest tom Posted March 4, 2003 Report Posted March 4, 2003 Hi all, I've done a quick search but haven't been able to find anything about this specifically. Whilst extremely bored at work today, I noticed that in windows there's a file called display.cpl.xml that contains XML pertaining (in my eyes at least) to controls for display brightness and contrast. Conveniently, I also "discovered" a file in the same directory called root.cpl.xml - the xml file that lists the available control panels in "settings". So, I put two and two together and added the following line to root.cpl.xml: <cpl-link href="display.cpl.xml" res="30017"/> Alas, whilst this lists "Display" as an option in settings (after closing settings first from task manager), it won't load - I simply get the error: "The settings could not be opened." Any ideas?
