Guest pibrahim Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 If the new DK Update does indeed lock the certification loophole, then I think Orange have a LOT of explaining to do, given that Paul says they're allowing the P800 to run uncertified software. Its not good enough that we can 'find ways around it' - the same rules should apply for both phones. I'm not even going to begin to comment on the fact that after waiting months for an SMS character-count implementation, we finally get one, only to find its fundamentally flawed...
Guest Speedy Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I second that, what is up with this. I think this is very bad news on their behalf, and come to think, i was almost convinced that o had finally done something right. Guess again. :) ;)
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I'm going to look a gift-horse in the mouth here, so bear with me. Yes, it's great that the update has addressed the Danish-language T9-problem (det var fandme os' på tide, ik'?), but why give away these two games? As an apology? Yeah, right. MSR = Great game, hopeless control method. Bust 'em is far more suited to the SPV, but who needs it? I have a GBA for my mobile gaming, I don't need the SPV to play games on. Why didn't OrangeDK make a deal with - for example - MBoden and license NotBad v.2 and SPV Commander for us? Software we could really use that noone's yet purchased? Come on, Orange DK, we can see you're trying so why not try just that little bit harder, eh?
Guest Speedy Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 I totally follow you on that. Furthermore, that MSR had a file size of 2megs and the bustem was about 800kb. There goes the 100 kr they gave us, in gprs cost. Also with the decert, that is so crappy. I think they are shooting them selves in the foot with all these problems. Someday people will just get fed up with it, and decert the company. Thats my 10cents worth

I am deserting them, no doubt about that (a decision I made a while back, brought closer by removing the SIM-lock from my SPV :) )
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Isn't GPRS over Orange Update free?
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Free? This *is* Orange DK we're talking about here, Mono :) Nah, the games aren't delivered via Orange Update. Have to d/l 'em from Orange DK's SPV site, no option to use pass-through. stingy b*****ds.
