Guest markdav13s Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 i posted a message yesterday here and it was locked what does this mean
Guest Vector Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 It means that no one can reply because there is another post with the same thing in it. ie. if someone posts a question about unlocking and someone else has already posted the same question then it will be locked. Thats the only reason i've noticed so far. Paul or one of the moderators will know more than me
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 awarner's reply to your post yesterday is pretty self-explanatory. Moderators occasionally lock cross/repeat posts to cut down on needless threads. A rule-of-thumb is to do a search before posting.
Guest tomdbomb61 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 HOWEVER if you dont find what u want from the search then post away! hey u got to kepp the moderators busy else they will get bored! hehe tj
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 Just bear in mind some word combo's are better than others when searching. Also a good way to refine searches that get hundreds of results is to put in a few keywords and select "search for all words", then substitute and remove words until you find something relevant...
Guest tomdbomb61 Posted March 5, 2003 Report Posted March 5, 2003 monolithix, cud u just briefly explain how the search function works, as i often type in a word or two and get a load of posts tha are completely un related to my query. this may help to cut down on multi posts for me anyway! thanks tj
