Guest TooMuch2AM Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 I'm just curious as to what actions would cause a de-certed phone to 're-cert' ie. hard reset etc. I ask because I recently de-certed my phone and installed some unsigned apps (GNUBoy, PocketNES etc) and they worked fine. Then an app (GNUBoy I think) caused the phone to crash, and when I restarted the phone was 're-certed' I had to de-cert again! Wierd huh?!? M
Guest Myke Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 i was playing zelda on the NES emulator and it crashed. it re-certed my phone. i wouldnt mind if there was someway to recert it without having to hard reset =(
Guest Kallisti Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 You might consider clearing out your startup folder after the de-cert. It's possible that the xml file integration is being accidentally triggered due to the crash...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Normally it's down to corruption in the registery, and dodgy .xml the phone has an auto repair feature that repairs the phone causing the phone to be certified again. :)
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Windows has always automatically rebuilt the registry if it gets corrupted. I'd say take regular reg backups and restore them when you have difficulties, but theres no certified way to do that :)
