Does anyone know of any books that deal with Smartphone 2002?

Been asked before, but I think the conclusion was that there isn't really anything in the market yet.

I would suggest getting some code and having a play. For books the next best thing is books on Windows CE/Pocket PC programming as there is a LOT that is the same across both platforms. The main difference in Smartphone 2002 is that you are always running full screen and that you don't have a stylus so your GUI and IO assumptions are different.

Also, when looking at books, ignore ones that spend lots of time talking about MFC, this is a set of prebuilt dialogues and stuff that exists for Pocket PC but not for Smartphone.

Hope that helps

For anything to do with windows development of any kind. I still always recomend a read of the bible "Programming Windows" - Charles Petzold, to someone with no prior related experience.

Even if the specifics are a bit "dated", the undestanding gained of the fundamentals principles has not been bettered to this day IMO. Of course, one could then fill in the gaps with a CE book.
