Guest Syvwlch Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Did a quick search of MoDaCo on GPS issues. Seems we've had announcements from various companies but nothing released yet... I currently use an old (good serial-interface hardware never dies 8) ) Motorola Oncore DevKit, with an XDA serial cable and a mess of Null-Modem and male-male adaptors... Urgh. I was wondering if anyone has tried using some of those XDA-specific GPS kits, with an SPV? I understand they connect by serial, not USB, even... If so, could they indicate how it's working? I'd buy one if I knew it worked.
Guest aphex Posted May 14, 2003 Report Posted May 14, 2003 Hi Syvwich, I recently bought the TomTom 2 navigator for my O2 XDA (Qtek in Denmark) and I must say it works REALLY well ! Befor the TomTom I had a Navman 3400 for my iPaq 3970 but I constantly had problems getting a fix on the sattelites which ofcourse is very critical for a GPS-solution :-) The TomTom gets a fix on the position in a split second, has really nice anu USEFUL graphics - I give it my best recommondations. Cheers, aphex
