Guest Syvwlch Posted March 6, 2003 Report Posted March 6, 2003 Outlook doesn't notice that it's not the default mail client? Perhaps you have to configure an email account first?

I have tried deleting outlook express to see if it would activate outlook 2000 but it hasnt worked ,would i need to use my MSN email address? instead of my freeserve address? please help
Guest raider Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 Peter.e. With Internet Explorer open, Click on Tools on the Menu Bar. Then Click on Internet Options. Click on the tab thats marked progams. Next to Email: (yours will show OUTLOOK EXPRESS) click on the drop down arrow and Change it to MICROSOFT OUTLOOK. Click Apply then click OK. You have now set the default email program to MS Outlook hopefully that should solve your problem. :) If not post back.
Guest peter.e Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Raider thanks 4 your advice, but sadly it didnt work I still recieve emails to Outlook express .would i need to talk to my isp or is it something to do with my spv.
Guest zenabi Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Try this: - In Outlook 2000, goto Tools then Options. - Click the Other tab. - Tick the checkbox that says "Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar." Hopefully that should solve your problem.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 You need to put your e-mail account settings into Outlook 2000 for it to pick up your e-mail, surprisingly enough.... You can't get Hotmail through OL2k, but Freeserve will be fine. Go to: Tools > Accounts > New > Mail > fill in the boxes with your name, email address, un/pass, server addresses (probably pop.freeserve.net/.co.uk and smtp.freeserve.net/co.uk, confirm this from their site). Then when you hit send and recieve it will pick up your email. After that just sotp using OLE and you'll be fine.
