Guest GNU Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 Is there some way I can delete all contacs, inbox etc without having to cold re-start my phone? I want to make a "clean" image of my IPSM to store on HD.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 You cannot store an image of your IPSM on your HD (pc you mean? just checking ) as only certain parts of it are readable by windows. You can only save the IPSM on a storage card via the phones diagnostic menu. You get to this option in the same method as a hard reset except you don't do the erase part
Guest GNU Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 Go to www.winhex.com and download/buy the editor. With that (and a sd-card reader) you can down-/upload whatever you want from/to your SD-card. And thereby from/to your SPV.
Guest neilg Posted March 7, 2003 Report Posted March 7, 2003 personally if I want to clear contacts etc, I just create use export to PST option in outlook, export the current calendar, inbox, contacts to a new PST file (or you could create a sub directory and move them). This shoudl leave the default outlook directories for contacts, cal etc empty. Then I re-sync making the PC overwrite phone records so it blanks the lot. Still think the "Erase IPSM" from bootloader or USBTerm is the easiest way though.
