Guest CheckerChecker4711 Posted March 8, 2003 Report Posted March 8, 2003 does anyone know where I can find the original spv-manual from htc - not the shitty incomplete one from orange - found it at mobilejoe but the file was corrupt
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Try contacting Pete1312, in this thread: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...ight=htc+manual, he claims to have copies of the pdf's.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 I have a copy on my work PC, if this can wait until Monday? I'll also try to track it down if I can remember the search string I used in Google.
Guest cvdbl Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Can this be posted to the group? I am sure many people would like to have a copy.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 I'm sure it could, unless the Mods or Paul have an issue with this?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Shouldn't be a problem as long as you point out its © HTC, i think... Double check with Paul tomorrow if you like (or you can drop him a PM/email)...
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Found it! 8) I also had a copy here. Can't find the link anymore, but I think it was an FCC site. The file's 1,7 MB, tho. Edit : Your reply came as I was typing this, I'll do as you suggest and PM Paul. If he's ok, I'll post the file here.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Ok, folks! I think I've milked this for all it's worth (a PM from Paul, just for me  ), so without further ado :SPV Manual.zip
Guest CheckerChecker4711 Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 hi guys - thanks for picking this up - i'm eager to get the file and i think it's a great idea to post it for everyone at modaco
Guest zenabi Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Syvwlch: I can't seem to open the pdf file. Acrobat Reader 5.0 comes up with the error: There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired. I've tried to download it again but the problem still remains.
Guest jaknife2000 Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Yep, i get the same error, i also get the same error, and same file sizes if i download it from www.coolsmartphone.com
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 That's weird, it opens just fine on my two machines with Acrobat 5.0, both reader and full version... There is a short rebuild, but it opens fine. Edit : I checked that the unzipped file is also good. Edit : Patched to Acrobat 5.1, also works fine. Edit : Tried all this on the actual file dowloaded from the link above. Sigh... Ok, I will see if I can resave it under Acrobat full version, and perhaps fix the problem.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Has anyone besides me successfully downloaded and opened this PDF?
Guest Richie M Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Yep i have :) Acrobat v5.0 (Pre-release version) ;)
Guest PsychoDave Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Works fine for me too :) On old school version 4.0 btw
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Thanks guys! I will still attempt to resave the file with the full version tomorrow. Perhaps that will help.
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Resaving it doesn't seem to change the rebuild for some reason. :)
Guest paulcaley Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 No probs opening it here with 4.0 reader. It does rebuild everytime though. The documentation is much better than the rubbish supplied by orange but is still not complete! :)
Guest pete1312 Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 It opens ok on my PC. If anyone wants me to email it to them, let me know (by email).
