Guest Hax Posted March 9, 2003 Report Posted March 9, 2003 Hi guys, As the subject says, has anyone actually been able to listen to streamed internet radio of a reasonable quality? I tried listening to the Virgin stations the other day on the train to London - mostly 3 to 4 bars of signal all of the way, but the best I could get was a run of about 15 seconds and then a pause of between 5 and 10 seconds whilst media player "buffered" the next 15 seconds for me to listen to. This went on continuously until I got bored (around about five minutes later - would have been shorter, but I was convincing myself that it MUST work!) - also tried to find other radio stations, but these all gave the same results. Anyone got any advice on this - anything obvious I've missed (most likely) Cheers for any help guys, Hax
Guest Richie M Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 This used to work lovely before the update, don't know why but since it buffers loads and therefore Cr@p.
Guest spv_user Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 i have had the same problem any help ??? john
Guest yatpeak Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Since the update, GPRS speeds have dropped a large amount. Not sure why, but many people have noticed it. Wyatt
Guest fozzie Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Could you guys post some direct links to Radio Stations that work with the Smartphone Media Player so I can give them a try. Many thanks.
Guest Hax Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Try www.virginradio.co.uk - redirects you to lite.virginradio.co.uk (text only version) and even mentions using the SPV to listen! Hax
